Tax advisories

As encouraged by the law (RCW 34.05.230(1)), the Department of Revenue advises the public of its current opinions, approaches, and likely courses of action by means of interpretive statements. These statements, known as Tax Advisories, are formal interpretative statements issued by the Department that addresses and/or clarifies the tax administration of Washington excise and property taxes.

An Excise Tax Advisory (ETA) addresses excise tax issues while a Property Tax Advisory (PTA) pertains to property tax issues.
