Businesses encouraged to preview changes through live webinars
OLYMPIA, WASH. – March 13, 2018 – This month, the Washington State Department of Revenue will launch its new secure tax portal for all online services. The new system will give businesses access to both their tax and business licensing accounts in one convenient location.
The new portal, My DOR, will launch at noon on Monday, March 19. Businesses should use their existing Secure Access Washington (SAW) logon to access My DOR. SAW accounts are also used to access Labor & Industries, Department of Licensing, and Employment Security Department portals.
If a business does not have a SAW account, they will need to create one.
Revenue is retiring its existing online service portal, My Account, and taxpayers will begin filing electronically and accessing their tax accounts in the new My DOR.
Changes include a new look for the online excise tax return, reseller permit application, tax credits application and bill pay.
Tax professionals filing on behalf of businesses will also need to be prepared for the changes. Default payment methods will need to be reestablished in My DOR.
To help businesses and tax professionals adjust to this change, Revenue is offering a series of free training webinars.
Webinar participants will learn the basics of the new My DOR portal. Topics include how to transfer tax filing history from My Account/e-File, file a combined excise tax return, set up a default payment method, and send and receive secure messages. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Continuing education credit is available.
